Opinions are fine, both ways. It's how people have very short memories
that make the whole thing so laughable.
Chris Hughton, was and still is clearly a first class manager. To read the crap (about sacking him etc) that was flying around after our first few months was pretty silly really.
I remember saying very early on, we should stick with Hoots as I felt he was building something, turning the ship around so-to-speak, towards a new future for the club.
In doing so, I was on the receiving end of a lot of accusations of being a dumbass "happy-clapper" talking out of my back-side.
Since then, I think it's fair to give a little bit of s**t back for the stick anyone who actually believed in Chris Hughton took early on. If you can't take it, why give it in the first place. I wasn't blocking/ignoring people when I thought they were wrong, I took their derogatory comments in the belief that he'd turn things around, as he was CLEARLY starting something new at NCFC. Hardly rocket science if you think about it.
Should I have just taken the un-called for abuse, which has clearly turned out to be a load of bollox anyway, and sit quietly while everyone else changes their tune as though they never took the piss out of anyone who actually gave Hoots the time of day in his first few weeks and months at the club.
If by mocking what I felt was pretty stupid stuff being said to anyone with even half an ounce of optimism, has caused some people to get a bit assy, well perhaps they shouldn't think their way is always right when inferring that other fans are just braindead "happy clappers".
Trust me, when we had Glenn Roeder, Peter Grant and Bryan Gunn playing manager at Carrow Road, there was absolutely nothing to be thankful for. If someone actually wants to support their club and cheer them on ("happy clap", whatever other stupid names there are), when they can see the future isn't as dreadful as all the moaners and Hoots-out idiots, why should they have to feel like their opinions are out of a mental hospital? But when in fact the "Hoots out" calls less than 2 months into his reign are actually proving to be totally and utterly knee-jerk stupidity?
