I use my Samsung smart telly to watch iplayer, youtube, and streaming movies and music from a computer to the telly.
You don't have to have a smart telly to do those things as you could get a blu-ray player or a PS3 with those features and plug it into the telly.
Best option at the moment is the new Humax youview box which has iplayer, 4OD, and ITV player.
