as a young'un I don't remember it being open....weird. Still got my old rattle though that my dad bought there. I painted it green and yellow and wrote the players names on it. Should take it in the pit now and give it a blast. Reckon it would have been launched onto the pitch within seconds.
Reminds me of the failed drummer in the pit. He started banging away (oh er missus) and a bloke strode up the steps grabbed the stick and threw it onto the pitch with a "ffs shut the f**k up". How we laughed.
