AGM - get real - long post
Have just finished reading comments on last nights event! It appears we have had a day of racism now we will have a day of ageism.
I was present last night and yes the level of questioning was softer than I had expected and yes my immediate thought (after years of trade union conferences) was that the first question was a "plant" but I credit Roger Munby with too much intelligence to follow that line of reasoning. As to the speakers being known to the Chairman, remember every one present was a shareholder and as such is likely to attend events at the club over and above matches and for the past few weeks there has been a "hearts and minds" campaign.
Points from other reports on the meeting:- re argument in dressing room between Green/Ashton after Saturdays match - it was over Green throwing to Henderson rather than long ball to Ashton.
re rumours - 10 out of 10 for Worthington referring to it, 0 out of 10 for referring to rumoured gay relationship as being a "downgrading thing". No wonder gay footballers are fearful of being "outed"
re players attitudes - the statement that the players offered to be present at the AGM and take the flak says something ... there again it may all be lies!!!!!
