He wasn't HOPELESS

He just wasn't very good. Can't blame him either. Not his fault the manager (a) had a petulant row with Eddy and refused him a new contract in a hissy fit; (b) bought two not-very-good right backs on the cheap over the summer; and (c) therefore ended up having to play Flem out of position.
