Probably not
Depends on the total evidence provided at the trial. The injuries sustained were minor cuts and bruises and so jail term would be exceptional.
Sentencing is a tricky business and it is very easy to criticise judges without full knowledge of the facts of he case. They use detailed guidance to make a decision:
