They didn't seem to get on very well

It must be a strange dynamic between a chairman, who has been CEO of several multinational companies and who is used to working with highly intelligent managers; and a football manager with no education who is extremely obtuse.

That said, some of the stuff Bowkett has said in the last few months has been pretty unprofessional.
