How lucky were we in our Championship Season?
Here's 10 fortuitous results in that season (9 wins & 1 draw) for you, plus a couple of other stats.
Yes we were very lucky that season. Here goes : -
Palace 2-1, last minute deflected cross for Malky
Reading 2-1 85th minute deflected goal
Derby 2-1, twice taken pen, 0-1 down with 10 men
Sunderland 1-0, close game, seem to remember them hitting woodwork a couple of times
Coventry 1-1, were down to 10 men, they could have scored 5 in the last tem minutes
Forest 1-0. Boxing day, they miss an open goal early on. We were crap and scored from our one good piece of play in the game
Sheff Utd 1-0, Colins boys denied a very good shout for a pen when still 0-0
Ips**t 3-1. We are appalling first half as scum hit the woodwork twice. We should have been buried at h/t
Wigan 2-0, when at 0-0, Malky tugs back Roberts, nothing given. Could well have been a red card.
Reading 1-0. Thank you Neale Barry
Allowing for 2 points per game that makes 20 points gained through good fortune
The back 5 (Greeno, Malky, Flem, Eddy & Drury) missed 7 games between them.
Can?t remember us losing a lead apart from Bradford, Rotherham & Coventry matches.

- You could quite easily cook up the same argument about Man Utd's Treble, for example. (NCFC) - Ottosson Foxtrot, Oct 30, 15:38:56
