Yes that's correct about West Ham but

Not sure he wanted to go there to start with. They did make an approach when they were deep in the s**te in the Prem before Xmas 2010 but Lambert didn' t fancy it, presumably as he would have had a the potential of a relegation on his CV.

I was told by someone I trust that he spoke to West Han after we had been promoted but before he had signed his contract. Additionally I have heard but not had it verified by a second person that it was getting to the stage where the board were running out of patience with Lambert about signing the new contract.

This was the wobble that Alan Bowkett referred to when Hughton signed for City and I?m sure it was then that Hughton became very much our preferred choice.
