If it's any help. Balance/core exercises can be pretty awesome
If you can stand on each leg for about 30 seconds at a time. And then lever your leg backwards (just a simple stood still, one leg straight, and lever the other leg backwards, working the buttocks. 10-15 for each leg)
If you alternate those, you'll be surprised some of the relief you'll get. Plus you'll be strengthen your ankles and hips
You could try shutting your eyes whilst doing it, but I'd be stood near a wall, because you'll get a hell of a shock just how much your eyes are keeping your balance
