Wigan stayed up after not changing

QPR only stayed up because Bolton threw away a 2 goal lead in last home game while QPR got a last minute winner. If either of those events hadn't happened Bolton would have stayed up like Wigan while not changing while QPR would have been relegated despite changing.

There are not hard and fast rules that prove you should/shouldn't change. Every case needs to be judged on its merits - primarily "are the teams's problems being caused by the manager?". Because despite fan's need for a scapegoat they often aren't.
