This is probably a terrible thing to admit on here but when I was a teenager

(girl remember!) and a certain David M played fast and loose with my heart, I kept an exercise book full of song lyrics that Told My Story! The Carnival is Over was one of those songs.

I wonder if, in 20 years time, I'll bump into Paul Lambert following contact via Friends Reunited and he'll be all wistfully regretful.

This is what happened with the real David M. It turned out he'd fancied me all through 6th form. Too late mate!

(I'm hoping I'll be over Lambert in less than 20 years of course but I have to admit I'm not quite there yet. Hence my glee at yesterday's result and the cool snubbing of him I'm planning when he comes to CR)
