Hammers not impressed with Holty.....

I bet we're all glad we didn't sign Grant Holt!

I don't think I've ever seen a big number 9 tipped by many for England look so lethargic and, to be brutally honest, pathetic. He's talked about as a throwback, a player that gives his all and makes things happen as a result, an attacking powerhouse who bullies defenders into submission, taking no prisoners, well today he was absolutely nothing like that.

His touch wasn't great, his movement was shocking, his sidefooted attempt in the fast half couldn't even draw applause from the home support, probably because anyone in that crowd would have done a better job with such a chance! Watching Reid beat him in the air for fun even in 60-40's in Holts favour was pretty funny at times but more of a relief than anything else as we could have easily ended up throwing 6m away this summer buying him! He started last season slowly but at least then he was showing hunger, today there wasn't any of that.

This might sound a bit over the top but he literally did nothing of any worth today and seeing a clubs so called star man look so uninterested and lazy is something of a rarity unless your watching Man City with Balotelli, but then you know he'll usually always do something in the end to justify his presence on the field.

We've had a lucky escape with this one I think!!!
