Not really sure how to react to our current performances
On the one hand I think in some ways we are playing better than last season and have improved. Defensively we look organised and more solid. We have been the better side in each of our last three games and are creating plenty of chances. Again yesterday we really should have won relatively comfortably.
On the other hand though I just don't know where the goals are going to cone from. We have four reasonable strikers but at the moment I can't see any of them getting into double figures and our midfielders are talented but currently a bit wasteful in the final third. Also, whilst I think the Hoot is clearly a very good coach and is improving us in some areas, his lack of adaptability is a bit of a worry. Just making like for like striker changes doesnt often alter the course of games. I though yesterday our midfield were all knackered after an hour. Surman barely did anything second half and Johnson and Howson became sloppy. It was crying out for Wes and the failure to make a change baffled me.
I know engaging in "under Lambert we would have won that" type speculation is a bit pointless but I genuinely think out of the last three games we would have scraped at least one win, possibly two. Those occasional wins we scraped were crucial last season.
