In the UK it is - as the coverage of other events
where British riders are not doing well has proved. Most British cycling fans probably have not idea of where the classics even are, let alone the kind of rider that wins them.
In the rest of Western Europe though, cycling is much bigger than Athletics, and bigger than tennis in many countries.
