I believe there were regional and local alerts, but no major warning
despite the fact it was bleeding obvious that a tsunami would be coming.
For example, most of the population of Robinson Crusoe Island were saved by some small girl ringing the alert bell after seeing the sea go out miles.
I think there was at least an hour or two for most areas before the waves came in
