Not a very good one, mind.

I suspect, due to his nature, Vaughan always looks good in preseason, given one of his main attributes is that he busts a f**king gut in everything he does. All it could potentially take is lesser-motivated defenders to be up against (see how he took the Celtic goalie out) and Wham! - all of a sudden he's the start player.

However, when up against players ready to play... he looks like he did against Blackburn away last year - full of running, full of endeavour, but no composure, therefore no goals.

I just can't justify in my own mind that preseason form is enough for him to warrant a place in our squad at the moment, given the wealth of evidence that says he doesn't warrant it.

I'd still love him to come good though...
