Because we need another striker with good movement and

presumably one who is available for reasonable money and who would fit with our wage structure.

He's obviously not the high profile, glamourous signing we were all hoping for. I'm sure we have been in for bigger fish and have probably been knocked back. But we do need someone and in the circumstances we could do worse than get him in to add to our existing options.
