Even if Southampton don't think he's good enough to start

It's not as if they're short of money and need to sell. He's definitely good enough to be an impact sub (as demonstrated against city) so surely that would be better than to sell him to a rival, where he could potentially make the difference and send Southampton down? Definitely doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't be complaining if we signed him though.
