Freeze drying and then vibrated until the corpse shatters into dust is apparently going to be the "thing" fairly soon. Already in use on the Continent. The resulting dust, about 15lbs of it, is excellent fertiliser, so it's a win win situation. No space taken up and big lush vegetables on your dinner plate.
