techie help needed

i used to have kazaa lite on my puta (sorry its illegal to share music files isn't it) my friend used to have kazaa lite on his puta and uninstalled it. just tried to reinstall it using the same file as he used origanally but now it won't work. it installs fine, then goes to open but then doesnt respond. is it something to do with his firewall and if so how do you stop it. any ideas anyone?
