I was reading the other day how this event came about. Probably WWII etc,
but was devised buy some bloke in about 1920, who imagined a cavalryman having to deliver a message during a war. The idea being he would ride his horse for a bit, shoot some c**ts before running out of bullets, swim across a big river, have a good old sword fight, then run for a few miles.
Hardly appropriate for birds.
