he was apparently texting the south africans during the last test,which i suppose they released to the press to unsettle him even more.i suppose the writing was on the wall when swann slagged pietersen in his recent book ,which was out order,well releasing it before he retired was anyway.
i think it's hard to see a way back for him now ,which is a shame as if he retires he'll only be a footnote in history,instead of someone getting 10,000+ test runs and being acknowledged as being the great player that he is.
on the other hand it may have started off as a negotiating tactic for whan the central contracts are renewed in september,but if that's the case it seems to have got out of hand a little,i mean people always have a reason to leak stories to the press and it's often to put pressure on a 3rd party,(ie the ecb).
