It is not "dumb"

either 1. to respect the decision of a court after a trial; or 2. to take the view that insults (albeit extremely unpleasant and immoral) ought not to constitute criminal offences. You may disagree, but that is a different matter. Also, taking those views does not mean or even vaguely suggest that someone is a racist.
