They are very good but they are very, very dull

I think it's because the way they play robs the match, for long periods, of any real sense of contest. Because they keep the ball so well, there are long periods when the other side does nothing except wait for a chance to nick it. So it's one way and the match feels as though nothing much is happening. This is exacerbated by the WAY in which they keep the ball - ie endless boring no risk passes between players who aren't in the final third. So there's little sense of risk, excitement or goal threat on the pitch. It's just Spain keeping the ball.

It's technically brilliant. It requires huge mental strength and team discipline and physical fitness. But I find it really dull.
