Any techie experts out there?

Last week I was having some real issues with my wifi dropping on Sky Broadband every 5 mins or so and only connecting intermittently after. The wifi network was always present, you just couldn't connect to it.

Broadband itself was working fine if you plugged into it using the Ethernet connection so no issues there. Sky made me do all the normal checks like reseting it, changing the channel, etc and none of them worked so blamed the router itself. Fair enough I thought, it was a few years old so I picked up another one (same Sky model) from a second hand store and once I'd got it unlocked by Sky, it worked fine.

Tonight however the same problem has returned. Every few mins it disconnects every device connected and you have to wait again a while for it to come back.

Any ideas? It's making me go a bit mental. Can too many devices trying to connect cause this kind of problem? We have 3 laptops, 3 iphones and 2 ipads in the house Nothing has changed in terms of setup or positioning.
