I agree, Pirlo didn't have anyone near him for most of the
game and I think any player capable of executing a good pass would've had a good game in the position. I know Pirlo is very good but anyone given that amount of time would've looked good. The main problem was playing so incredibly deep. In the first 15 minutes when we played more in their half we showed that they were defensively vulnerable but as the game went on we just dropped deeper and deeper. But I'm not surprised. Remember WBA at home last season? Hodgson had the team behind the ball for most of the game and scored the only goal of the game. His tactics for all the England games was no different so we'd better get used to it.
