want music? - you have to use our software
want to decide where to get your apps from? - Nope
Want to customise your phone? Nope
But they just work (most of the time) and give you a lot of features without having to figure them out.
Personally I wouldn't give up my android phone (Xperia Play) for one any day.
On the other hand, I have a 64gb iPod touch for my music and probably wouldn't get any other mp3 player other than apples.
Especially after I stuck mine through the wash last week and this week (all bar a washed out middle of screen) it works perfectly.
Was ready to write it off completely
