What's everyoine's beef with Mallky?
It seems like people maybe discount him BECAUSE he's an ex-player and assume that's why others want him. Perhaps worried about another Gunn situation, when tbf it's a completely different deal.
He did well at watford, and got Cardiff to the league cup final and playoffs whilst massively hampered by cutbacks. I was dubious about him signing Miller and Earnshaw but he's done well beyond that.
I'm not saying he's set the world on fire, but definitely a promising young manager who I think would go someway to maintaining what Lambert has started, plus he would be amicable to what McNally is trying to do and not be a billy big-bollocks or start crying about transfer budget
