Its time for a change
I, and the majority of NCFC fans have been behind Worthington from the word go. This, despite having an inexperienced track record in mangagement.
We let him continue to manage OUR club with the respect he deserved and even supported him on TWO occasions when he said he was ready to walk out if he didnt get a new contract (and, incidently the Sheff Wed job was up for grabs!) Now, i wanted him to stay those times but OUR club deserves more respect than to be held to ransom by a manager, who, at the time had achieved very little.
Here is a manager who has one of the best track records in the clubs history, so why do we want him out? Well, despite his success (a play-off final and a promotion), Worthington has failed to take this club forward in the manner this club has been run in the past. This includes his refusal to give youth a chance (always an important part of this clubs history), an insistence on praising the team when clearly they need a rollicking (a host of post-match interviews will back this), and the occasional critisism of fans who have been nothing but superb the last 5 years, and have always backed the team an manager. You simply cannot criticise your club's fans - they are the people who make it what it is.
And, finally, for every successful signing Worthington has made (Drury, Holt, Huckerby), there have been no end of poor ones who stand out, take for instance Emblen, Easton, Libbra, Heckingbotton, Briggs, Charlton, Doherty, Helveg, Jonson, Hughes, Jarrett (and yes, i'm including them, because they are NOT good enough for our club - face the facts)
Even if players have been good enough, they have been made to look likebad signings because Worthington hasn't played them (eg. Safri, Helveg).
Nigel, we respect you for getting promtion for this football club, and a great day out in Cardiff - but i feel that too many bad decisions and rash moments should cost you your job. NCFC deserves better - go now and leave with some respect still in tact. It is time for you and this club to move on.
