Can't help feeling he would be after a bigger job than Villa

His CV needs another good Premiership season with a limited budget.
Unless Villa have suddenly decided that they are prepared to invest in a big way, they won't even be holding their weight against mid-table clubs.
Some bigger names have gone there as managers and floundered, suggesting a deeper malaise than something which is purely squad related.
Maybe PL will use this an a platform to re-affirm his commitment to us and put to bed Merry-Go-Round related issues. After all, all they have done is ask permission to talk.
