Seriously though. Villa could be a big mistake for him. I know we all thought that
Everton and Villa would be the ones he'd most likely leave for, and that we'd accept those, but I'm starting to wonder about the wisdom of that.
That is a lot of pressure. He'd need a massive clearout at Villa and players he likes are not ten a penny - surely he'd come knocking at our door for players he trusts - and then get the whole squad playing with the required level of adaptability and manage the egos as well.
Success might raise his stock a bit, but would it raise it much more than with Norwich ? Especially if he's seeing guys go from a club like Swansea to Liverpool ? Might it not be smarter to wait a year or so and see if Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle or Spurs come calling ? Even Arsenal ?
Failure to finish top 10, or even status quo, at Aston Villa would surely label him as only able to do well at a a so-called unfashionable club ?
