If the new England manager has to be English
Then I don't think the FA should be looking further than Alan Pardew:
Good tactician as he has proved this season, knows how to set up teams defensively while fitting his best flair players into the side without losing its' balance.
Has had success in cup competitions which is useful for knockout competitions.
Understands the importance of the team over the individual, sold individuals like Kevin Nolan in order to fund a better team.
Able to get the best out of average players (look at how good Newcastle's defence has been this season).
Proved himself to have a good eye for a player in his tenure at West Ham and currently at Newcastle.
Made Andy Hughes an attacking threat as a goalscoring midfielder in the champs, so basically a miracle worker!
Made mistakes which he seems to have learned from, Charlton was a big learning curve for him.
Realises that dickheads ruin dressing rooms (Reo Coker at West Ham, Barton at Newcastle)
Has a good CV and plenty of managerial experience
Young enough to be a long term option
A good manager that's a realistic target
Thoughts?
