I think.........

The way through a recession is to keep as many people as possible in jobs. Unfortunately, this govt want to get rid of lots of public sector workers.

That is a false economy saving, as those people will claim benefits rather than pay tax. The economy then suffers as spending falls and even people in jobs have less confidence to spend money.
