away fans slowed their car and asked if we knew the way to Hartlepool. I was about to tell them when they chortled 'cos you'll be needing to know the way there soon!'

Those two Man City fans could see on that night exactly what would befall our club over the following four years. I should have taken more notice of them instead of rolling my eyes and tutting at them.
