I think it's the same as any other PnP device
it's installed the drivers, the management software etc - but needs a bit of manual intervention to format the drive (presumably by using windows explorer (I'd go straight for the DOS prompt once I'd got the drive letter, though, to be fair)
The problem here is somewhere between the computer and the chair
