Work uniforms with a logo...

Maybe one for SCC "Do you want fries with that"28

Lifted from our friends at WACCOE

It seems that if you wear a work uniform with a company logo & clean it yourself you can claim back "expenses" @?60 pa going back 6yrs i have rang & spoke to somebody at hmrc to confirm this also your tax will be adjusted in future to accommodate future cleans. So get back what is yours if this is the case for you.
edit to say this is the template letter & address i was given by the hmrc employee..

I have been employed at Company Name, Location since (Date of Starting at Employment). I am obliged to launder the uniform, which is supplied to me by the company. I therefore wish to claim an expenses allowance of ?xx for each year since the above date. write repayment claim on top of letter apparently gets sorted quicker.

send to hmrc po box 1970

obviously include your ni no. on the letter.
