Tech help please...f**ked Dell Inspiron

My son's laptop appears to be f**ked, or it might not be, I don't know.

Anyway, the diagnostic check thing says it has 8 errors:

1) Disk drive C: is unreadable
2) RAM memory speed decreased significantly and may cause a system failure
3) Hard drive does correspond to system requests
4) Damaged hard drive clusters detected. Private data is at risk. Restore is required
5) Hard drive rotational speed exceeds system limits and may cause a system failure
6) Boot sector of the hard drive is damaged
7) Hard drive space less than technical limits
8) Hard drive rotational speed decreased by 20%

In addition I get s**t loads of messages saying:

"Failed to save all the components for the file \System32\

Also says "File indexation process failed"

Er, is it f**ked?
Is it a virus?

I've done a system restore but made no difference.
