Cloudy thing option
Would agree with Karnivore on the NAS drive, but would also look at Dropbox for supplementing, especially if any one in the house may want to access shared stuff when away from it. 2gb free per user account and can set up shared folders and stuff. Agnostic in what it'll work with - including both iOS and Android devices - both phones and tablets. Use a NAS in the house, but also manage Dropbox shares for the more mobile users.
