times change, eh ?

One REALLY good thing I've found about Apple is that their products last a long time (if you look after them). Really good quality inside and their software updates etc support older hardware for far longer than many other platforms. My ex is still using the iPhone 3G I used for 2 years before I gave it to her a year ago. It works perfectly and she even prefers it to her Galaxy SII as her telephone of choice (uses the Galaxy for video etc).

I try to be objective with technology and not a fanboy or the antifanboy (which is just as bad). I used Windows for years. Still use Windows XP (!) on work laptop. I really like Windows 7 and at home have a desktop, laptop and mini-laptop all running that. But I also have an iMac which is my weapon of choice these days - Windows desktop has not been turned on in a year. But I also run Windows 7 in VMWare on the iMac for stuff like iPlayer etc. I also have an old laptop running Kubuntu which I just don't get on with. I have a Galaxy S running Android which I just think is a bad user experience, a Nokia Lumia 800 running Windows Phone 7.5 (limited but very sleek and far better O/S than Android for the end user), but prefer my iPhone 4.

So try to open your mind with it. I'm lucky enough to get to try a few of these things out because of my job, true enough, but I would still say try to open your mind to it. And as for business model, there are no good guys amongst Microsoft, Apple and Google...
