I'm currently just over the mountain from Lech. As the crows fly (and there's a lot of them round here) it's about 20km; by road a lot further though. This week there was about 1.5 metres of snow dumped on Wednesday and yesterday the road up from here to the villages over the border was closed. Scary driving as well. Most of the ski lifts were closed due to extreme avalanche risk. Even this morning there were loads of the explosions going off to release unstable snow high up. Some of the rooves here must have more than a ton of snow on top.
