Are you based in Norwich?

We used a local firm to advise of remortgaging our flat we couldn't sell so we could rent it out until things eventually turn up. They advised us on the best way to do it without leaving us open to large tax bills aimed at professional landlords.

We only had to pay for their services once the whole thing was arranged. it might be worth talking to some financial advisors so they can look at your circumstances and suggest the best way - they'll be better aware of the ramifications of picking the wrong option.
