that isn't a skill much in demand from big clubs, whose fans and their own sense of prestige demand big name signings.
If Lambert turned up at Spurs and started buying Championship/League One players the fans would go ballistic.
There's too much money at stake at these big clubs to take a chance on an up-and-coming young manager.
The person who said earlier that he'd have to manage at a Villa/Everton/Newcastle sized club before the 'Big Six' would touch him with a bargepole had it spot on.
