Interesting story re Howson's contract negotiations. From Ben Parker (leeds player)

Apparently Ben Parker was speaking to the fans in Leeds Pavilion on Saturday and told them what was going on, before someone from the club heard and pulled the mic out of his hands....

Jonny wanted a pay parity with their top earners on ?10-11k per week. The contact he was on was ?4k per week - Ken Bates offered him another ?400pw to extend his contract.

Bit pathetic if true, Billy Paynter is on ?8k, Becchio ?11k, Brown ?10k, Lonergan ?8k. Howson is devastated at being forced out of the club and they have told him that he needs to go as the club needs the money.

.....then again, could just be antiBates bollocks
