You are the first person I've heard say that the film covers the politics well! Most

reviews commend Streep for her performance, but say it glosses over the politics completely.

Re: Alzheimer's - there are many very worthy and distressing films and books on the subject. Not least those about Iris Murdoch by her husband.

I have seen it at close hand in my family, and have looked after people in varying stages of it for many years.

Have to say , I'm with Dandy & Jasfski - watching the film will add nothing to my knowledge, but only succeed in making me very angry.
