Well in the cold light of day probably not exactly fascinating but...

I'd seen the Alarm about a year before just before they had any hits. Or just as 68 Guns appeared. Either way not many people knew them, ?2 a ticket, good gig etc.

So when they came back in the autumn of 84 I was keen to go again even though their irony-free bombast wasn't really my thing. It was a Friday evening, a night out and all that. The Faith Brothers were supporting who I was vaguely curious about. The Alarm were also on the Tube that day. After the support finished it was announced that the plane was delayed and they'd be late. So we waited and waited and eventually a local band in the audience were invited up onto the stage and did a set. They were really pretty good, but to this day I've been racking my memory for who they were. I don't recall any announcement, just vaguely that I think they played a Television song. Ever since then I've wondered whether it all actually ever happened.
