my take on it
the linesman saw it but bottled it a little, thinking/hoping the ref had seen it and would deal with it off his own back. maybe a bit reluctant because it wasnt the most blatant headbut. then when play stopped he decided to mention it.
wondered if holt thought johnson or somebody else was in trouble rather than barton which is why he pointed the ref to the linesman, to try and prevent our guy from getting a card? think derry was in the linesmans face at that time saying god knows what
