Massive cricket pissup and dinner at St Catharine's College

Lovely.

I obviously have a lot to learn about football, because I thought Crouch was one of the better players last night, at least for the first hour. Nearly every positive thing England did went through him, either in the air or on the floor. Joe Cole had a great first half on the left, too.

Two things though - why does Owen hesitate when through on goal? There were two or three clear chances where he needed to stride on to the ball and hit it first time, but instead he dithered and had a little shuffle and by that time the defender or goalie got across to snuff it out.

Also, I was under the impression glory boy Beckham was playing on the right last night...so after the first 10 minutes, why in suffering f**k did he keep popping up on the left and getting in Cole's way?
