This is England (86)

Never realised this series existed until I saw you lot going on about This is England 88. So I downloaded the 86 series and watched the first 3 (of 4) last night.

Must say I was firstly amazed they got all the original actors back, including Smell who must the world's most ugly woman ever. And Lol who is strangely attractive.

But unlike the fillum, it is just basically a soap isn't it ? Has very little to do with 1986. It could have been set with the same stories any time in the last 30 years really. Occasional nod to the Commodore 64 etc (although I swear they ballsed it up by having a Kensington joystick which I thought was Spectrum only).

Oh, and whilst I will never complain at a Lol naked scene, who had a shower in a council tower flat in 1986 ?!!
