Police-procedural battling-with-demons detective stuff, so certainly follows a formula, but it is very well done. Scando. Five books so far (i've only done four) and each has it's own plot, but then there are cross-novel story arcs too, which provide more interest. So they need to be read in the right order.
He keeps getting compared with Stieg Larsson, but f**k knows why, they write entirely dissimilar novels. Lazy association because they are both Scandos I reckon.
I really want to go to Sweden and Norway.
Norway could be a terrific holiday. Round Oslo for a week in the south, then wrap up warm for a week in the north to see the Aurora and avoid polar BEARS.
